Tonight I was reading Gilead on the patio. Lady stuck close, hoping supper would be soon.

... where she's watching a bird peck at seeds on the ground. She's irresistibly photogenic these days. Look at that elegant curlicue tail!

... snoozing in the sun. That's my neighbor Elizabeth in back, she's watching a baby dove feeding on the ground.

Cats sure do sleep a alot, especially old cats like Musta who is 15. This is her 4th favorite spot.

I'd been looking for her and walked by this laundry basket at least twice before noticing her. Black on black is hard to see!

Here she cat-eyes a cardinal and other birds at the feeder on a damp, cool Sunday morning.

Lady with her Kong

This is a chew toy where treats can be tucked inside to create a 'chew challenge'. We call it Lady's 'treat ball'. And she knows to HUNT IT UP whenever I ask, WHERE'S YOUR TREAT BALL? And then she brings it to the kitchen, right in the kitchen, not on the dining room side mind you, and gets praised effusively whenever she gets it right onto the rug just inside the kitchen door. Lady lives for this kong after breakfast and supper.

Lady Waiting Patiently

... for "the boyz" to arrive. When she hears THE BOYZ , she knows she'll soon see her best dog friends Beau and Zack and heads straight for the front window, the front yard, wherever she can best see. Until they arrive, she waits with eager anticipation, sometimes looking up as if to say, Are you sure? Where are they? Why aren't they here now?

... here with the red ball we call 'Beau's Ball' because it's the only one - ignoring all the others - he digs out of the toy box or hunts up in the yard whenever he and Zack visit.

Sure enough, last night Toivo wouldn't move when Lady came upstairs for bed. Lady seemed more resigned than objecting. It didn't last long, just enough time for me to grab the camera.

She's been stretched out on Lady's bed all day, for the first time ever. I wonder if it won't be long before they're cuddled up together?

Favorite Shot of Lady

She's peeking out from amid the ivy, completely unposed! Dad and I were visiting on the patio. Lady started to scratch her back by walking back and forth underneath the ivy. Then she poked her head out, looking quite pleased with herself.

... through the 'Cat Door'. The door leads from the kitchen to the basement and the litter boxes. Toivo often parks right there where she can see all the action but protect herself from commotion (read: DOG).
